Wendell Van Sickle (2nd)

Competition Report: (Dale Lambert)

Dale discussed the upcoming NASA event the weekend of September 23rd. Richard Darnell thought the stickers on the cars worked well at the last event. He brought up the idea of taking a more active role at NASA. Bob McKeown suggested we not get involved in teching, because we would have to tech the race classes and we do not know that much about them.

Andrew Cowden suggested free track time for workers, or letting the workers run the last half hour of the day while those who drove work the track. Richard suggested that we talk to Dewey.

He discussed the upcoming event this weekend (8/5/01) at Music City, and the upcoming NASA event the weekend of August 25-26.

Motion to approve competition report:

None

Old Business:

Allen mentioned that there has been no mid-season newsletter mailed.

Bob S asked about the status of insurance on the bus. Richard said that there has been no progress. He will pursue it more.

Richard asked about the status of the website. Dan said that it’s coming along, but that no one is submitting any stories, and that any stories on the site are those that David Wells himself has written.

New Business:

Andrew suggested giving 1 second penalties at autocrosses when workers are slow to show up after running to work. Wendell thinks that the existing penalties (if you don’t work you have to show up at the next event not to run) are sufficient, but that they just need to be enforced.

Bob S will be conducting a safety seminar at the next event (September 16) at Twin Fountains so that more people can become qualified to be safety stewards.

Allen mentioned that our club has yet to hold a board meeting this year. In response to this, Richard called a board meeting for Thursday, October 4, _ hour before the regularly scheduled monthly meeting.

Dan motioned to adjourn at 8:05
