He discussed the upcoming event this weekend (8/5/01) at Music City, and the upcoming NASA event the weekend of August 25-26.

Old Business:

Someone asked about the status of insurance on the bus. Richard said that his insurance agent has said ‘no.’

Steve still plans on buying radios, but has not had the chance.

 

New Business:

Paul says we need workers for the truck race, which will be held at the track August 9-11.

Richard suggested that someone talk to Dewey at the track about getting different colored passes to distinguish between vendors and track workers. He thought this would prevent the hot dog vendors from getting nasty about where they can set up.

Richard suggested that we become more involved in organizing and hosting the NASA events. He thought we should participate not as SCCA members, but as individuals. One drawback to this is that the event would not be covered under SCCA insurance, and we would have to work the track. He would like for us to take over tech from NASA, in the hopes to make it more efficient. He also thought that NASA instructors need to be more consistent as to which line they teach.

Wendell suggested making classroom time mandatory. He suggested passing out different colored stickers to those who attended class, and those stickers would be required to run.

Allen motioned for a mid and end-of season newsletter posting points and event results for those without email access. Paul Becker 2nded this.
