Old Business:
Richard Darnell spoke with his insurance agent about options for insurance for the bus. The agent suggested contacting the SCCA to see if they have anything available, or having a member of the club add the bus to their personal policy.
Richard then mentioned that the club needs radios ASAP. Paul said he would look into that. He (Richard) also thinks the club needs one more sending unit for the timing lights. Steve said he would work on that.
Richard thinks that NASA needs to reimburse us when we loan them our equipment, and that we need to be paid up front.
New Business:
Jason Morris brought up the idea of hosting a special autocross social event where drivers would pay $40-$60 to enter several different events, and winners would get $. Richard expanded on this by suggesting that interested people pay an extra $5 or so and participate in a side pool. Paul shot down this idea. Richard also suggested dropping two autocross events and adding two social events instead.
Ryan Hulbert suggested that we form teams that would compete with each other for points, money, etc.
Stan Wilson suggested that we go to local car shows in the area and pass out fliers to generate interest in autocross. Richard suggested that we pass out fliers at Hunters Autocross and Hot Rods, etc. Paul suggested that we establish some sort of reward system for finding new venues.
Wendell thought we should try and use Music City as much as possible instead of Twin Fountains, which is too far for most people.
Dale thought we should send someone to attend the SE Divisional meeting in Atlanta later this month to gather info for hosting our own Solo I next year.
Ryan suggested that the club obtain a measuring wheel to measure the course so that we can map out the course beforehand. This would help to save time on race day.
Paul went over the itinerary for the IRL race. Workers are needed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Workers are to show up by 11:00 wearing khakis, t-shirts and tennis shoes. Richard wants us to be able to get our lap times when running on the track.
Alan motioned to adjourn at 8:15.
